Tell us what you need
The more detail you give, the sharper the quote.
What helps us price fast
Sizes, wall type, quantity, condition/grade you need, and the delivery or pickup zip.
What you get back
A written quote with grade choices, availability and freight — plus greener alternatives where they save money.
No surprises
Used boxes are graded and photographed before you commit. What you approve is what ships.
A quote from EcoBoxes Cali is built from a handful of honest variables: grade (A costs more than D — you pay for condition, nothing else), wall type (triple-wall over single), size and quantity (full truckloads beat LTL per unit), and your freight lane (distance and backhaul availability). Send the essentials and a real person returns a written quote — grade options, availability and freight — within one business day.
What actually sets your number
There is no mystery markup here. Used-box pricing tracks five things, and we flag every one of them on your quote so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
- Grade: Grade A commands a premium; Grade D is salvage-priced. Mixed-grade loads split the difference.
- Wall type: triple-wall carries more board and more cost than single-wall, but lasts more trips.
- Size & volume: a full truckload prices better per unit than a pallet or an LTL shipment.
- Freight lane: distance from our Woods Cross, Utah hub — and whether we can match a backhaul — moves the landed cost.
- Market supply: some sizes ebb and flow seasonally; if a spec is tight, we tell you up front and offer alternatives.
Selling us your surplus? The same logic runs in reverse — cleaner, higher-grade, higher-volume loads on an easy lane earn the best buy-back. See sell your boxes.
Exactly what info sharpens a quote
Every line you can answer up front saves a round-trip email and gets you a firmer number, faster. None are mandatory — send what you have.
- Box type — Gaylord, RSC carton, octabin, pallet
- Dimensions — L × W × H in inches, e.g. 40″ × 48″ × 36″
- Wall type — single, double or triple-wall
- Grade — A, B, C, D, or lowest-cost that works
- Quantity — per order and per week if recurring
- Delivery / pickup zip — for the freight lane
- Timing — one-off or standing supply
- Photos — essential when you're selling to us
Where the per-unit price improves
Indicative tiers — more volume on a clean lane means a better unit price. Your written quote confirms the exact figure for your spec.
| Order size | Typical freight | Per-unit price |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 pallets | LTL | Baseline |
| 5–12 pallets | LTL / partial | Better |
| Full truckload | FTL (van/flatbed) | Best |
| Standing / weekly | Scheduled FTL + backhaul | Best + locked |
Recurring buyers on a fixed spec get contract pricing and reserved stock. Ask about a standing supply program.
From email to loaded truck
Lead time depends on stock, wall type and freight lane — all confirmed on your quote. New Gaylords involve a mill run and conversion, so they take longer than pulling graded used stock off our floor.
How the load actually reaches you
Freight is often the swing factor in a quote, so we treat it as part of the price, not an afterthought. We ship nationwide across 48 states from our Woods Cross, Utah hub — van for flattened, banded stock and flatbed for tall or heavy unit loads.
The biggest lever is backhaul matching: when a truck is already running your direction, we slot your load onto empty miles instead of paying for a dedicated run. That is greener and cheaper, and it is why full truckloads on established lanes get our best numbers. For surplus you're selling us, the same trucks that deliver can carry your empties back — one lane, two jobs.
Tell us your zip early. Half of a sharp quote is the lane, not the box.

What most requests look like
The recurring buyer
A distributor needs 200 Grade B double-wall Gaylords a week. We lock a spec, reserve stock and quote a standing FTL lane with backhaul.
The one-time clear-out
A plant has 3 truckloads of surplus empties. We photograph, grade and send a buy-back offer within 24–48 hours, pickup on our trucks.
The mixed load
An operation wants Grade A for outbound and Grade C for the floor. We build one blended pallet load to their split to cut cost.
The spec-critical run
A food co-packer needs new triple-wall for a certified export load. We quote a first-run mill order with lead time up front.
The recycler
An MRF wants baling plus OCC recovery. We quote on-site baling and a documented diversion trail, not just a haul-away.
The upcycler
A maker wants Grade D stock by the pallet for craft and dunnage. We quote salvage-priced board that never sees a landfill.
